Within our constant efforts to offer LAH facilitators and history teachers who are also potential facilitators in the future, a series of workshops have been conducted around different topics. They included a range of energizing and educational activities that helped everyone make the best out of this learning experience.

This program comprised of the following:

  1. Enhancing facilitation skills offer that offered the opportunity to gather and reflect on their best practices, learn further and share some fun moments!
  2. Emotional Intelligence and Body Language; its impact in the workplace and how we can work on improving our social skills, communication tools and manage our emotions!
  3. Dealing with the Past and Memory of War workshops in collaboration with forumZFD and STEPS; although they are controversial topics, it is important to go through this experience as part of the healing process and use it as a means to keep an open mind in a diverse country like Lebanon.

We have all lived the war in Lebanon in one way or another; whether we have gone through it physically or not.

The sessions and activities targeted several topics like the memory of the civil war, conflict patterns, and multi-perspectivity. Several group work activities and role-play sessions helped in better understanding of our identity on a personal level to its impact on a group of people who are coming from different environments and backgrounds, in addition to understanding the art of communication during conflict and helped in maintaining a tolerant approach towards different narratives of the war rather than focusing on our personal experiences and one coherent narrative, all of which reflected the real image of Lebanon: A community that has a lot in common yet very diverse.

All workshops were very fruitful and collaborative and reflected a very positive teamwork spirit among the participants.
