LAH launched the publication of two guides dedicated to history teachers in Lebanon on August 30, 2022 at the National Library, Sanayeh, Beirut.. The project comes as part of LAH’s mission to contribute to the development of history education in Lebanon, in partnership with the Peace Building Project at UNDP – Lebanon and in collaboration with the Centre for Lebanese Studies at LAU. The event, sponsored by the Minister of Education and Higher education in Lebanon Dr. Abbas Al Halabi represented by CRDP President Dr. Hiam Ishak, was attended by a number of LAH members, history teachers and academics and school directors who pointed out to the significance of this initiative and its importance for history teaching. The guides present disciplinary approaches for teaching history and include a theoretical framework, three detailed units in each guide, and Teachers’ corner. They represent an exploration into incorporating Dealing with the Past into mainstream history education. Visit our website lahlebanon.org to check out the two guides!
