New Approaches in Teaching History: Towards a Diversity-Including Narrative

A new collaboration was launched by the Lebanese Association For History with the Faculty of Education at the Lebanese University, through a workshop titled ‘New Approaches in Teaching History: Towards a Diversity-Including Narrative’. Based on the belief that today’s students are tomorrow’s teachers, the training team sought to enhance their abilities to deal with multiple narratives and perspectives in teaching history. The degree of their interest and positive engagement was remarkable, which paved the way to contemplate the impact such an approach has on the learner and on society. One of the students commented, “You made me love history!”, and another, “This is how our students will learn to respect others!”
