As part of ongoing collaboration with the Embassy of Switzerland and our continued support to strengthen the role of Beit Beirut as a museum of memory and recovery, LAH’s President Leila Zahwi and ex-president Nayla Hamadeh met with a distinguished Swiss delegation. The delegation included Ambassador Tim Enderlin, Head of the Peace and Human Rights Division (PHRD) at the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), Ms. Aline Perdoux, Head of Swiss Peace Programs for Lebanon and Syria, and from the embassy team in Lebanon, Ms. Geraldine Feridaz, Human Security Advisor for Lebanon, and Ms. Maria Abdel Rahman, Senior Officer for National Programs at the Swiss Embassy in Lebanon.
The meeting addressed the efforts of LAH and its partners at the Forum for Memory and Future to promote engagement with Lebanon’s past, particularly in the educational sector, as well as initiatives aimed at creating spaces for dialogue and community memory. Prior to the meeting, a guided tour was conducted by Dr. Mona Hallak, who presented the historical trajectory of the Beit Beirut building and the role of civil society in transforming it into a museum that embraces collective memory.
This collaboration embodies our shared commitment to building a better future based on dialogue, memory, and community recovery.
