As part of its constant support to the development of history education in Lebanon, the Lebanese Association For History, with the support of the United Nations Development Programme in Lebanon and in partnership with Centre for Lebanese Studies, i organised the launching of the Supplementary Learning Materials for History Teachers on August 30, 2022 at the National Library (Sanayeh- Beirut) 

The manuals are part of the “towards a new history curriculum” project that support history teachers in changing the way they teach history by fostering historical thinking, running more engaging classrooms, and developing disciplinary skills in coordination with the Centre for Educational Research and Development.

The writing team included 8 history education experts (6 women, 2 men) who designed and produced 6 following history Lessons. 

The industrial revolution; Lebanon, the Switzerland of the Middle East; The Palestinian Cause; The Phoenician civilization; Lebanon’s independence and the Lebanese Civil War Victims.

The launch will be an opportunity to present the manuals and to anchor them within a comprehensive vision for curriculum reform that embraces inclusivity, openness, and fostering evidence-based history education.
