Her History is part of Our History

The first session of the “Her History is Our History” workshop brought together around 30 history teachers from both public and private high schools for an enriching educational experience. Over three days of dynamic activities, participants explored the noticeable absence of women in history curricula and discussed strategies to integrate women’s perspectives into classroom lessons—adding depth, meaning, and inclusivity to historical narratives.

During the workshop, participants were introduced to a remarkable group of Lebanese women who played pivotal roles in shaping Lebanon’s history after Independence.

Thank you to our awesome facilitation team, Mrs. Nayla Hamada and Mrs. Mounira Yamout, for their dedication. We also appreciate the valuable presence of Mr. Khaled Fayed and the Ministry of Education team. Special thanks to Mrs. Jumana Zabaneh from UN Women for her inspiring speech, which motivated everyone to continue this important work.
