The first workshop was held with public high school teachers from Mount Lebanon in launching the oral history project entitled “From Local History to a Wider Understanding of the Past” organized by the Lebanese Association for History and the ForumZFD. The project aims at creating a clearer vision of the past, namely the civil war phase, which will encourage the approach of many peaceful and nonviolent narratives regarding this war.
The workshop consisted of three enjoyable and rich days with group work, discussions and interactive activities!
In preparation for the second workshop in October, we will start working together with students from public high schools to enhance their understanding of the similarity of human experiences during the war, in spite of the existing conflict, in addition to building skills of nonviolent communication based on numerous and various narratives that they will collect and archive with their teachers, to share it later on with the community.
