In May EUROCLIO in cooperation with new EUROCLIO member theLebanese Association for History (LAH), organized its first ever regional seminar in Beirut, Lebanon, within the framework of the Mediterranean Dialogues programme. Read all about the trainings and experiences of the 30 participants from Cyprus, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey of the training seminar “Towards a responsible and disciplinary approach to history education in the Mediterranean region”.

During the four seminar days, the participants exchanged experiences on the challenges, opportunities and best practices in history education in their respective countries and discussed how they could work together on these issues and use the lessons  learned on a regional level. The course offered opportunities for participant to dialogue and learn about each other. Following the first steps taken in Antalya, Turkey in 2012, educators in the field of history and heritage demonstrated their willingness to be involved in regional training activities, to develop their capacities and to cooperate on the regional, level to improve their capacities in teaching innovative and responsible history education during this training course.

The project was supported by the Open Society Foundations and kindly hosted by the Notre Dame University – Louaize.
